24-year-old Adrián Simancas was kayaking off the Strait of Magellan in Chilean Patagonia when a humpback whale lunged and pulled him straight into its mouth — caught on camera by his father Dell from just meters away. "I thought he was dead." The whale surfaced seconds later and spat him out. Adrián came out soaking wet with only minor injuries; he was taken to hospital and was basically fine. When asked later, he laughed: "This is my second birth."
